RubberQueen meeting: BOXES!

Last night was our monthly RubberQueen meeting. I gave away over 400.00 worth of product in incentives to over 25 different people.  Do you want to belong to our group?  You can!  Just email me today and I can tell you how.  On July 15th, you can join for only 85.00!  Plus we had awesome training, make n takes, and swapping!  This group is so special, and you would love being a part of it.  I have LOTS of pictures to share with you, but I'll start off with the boxes that I made last night.  I copied the idea right from the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator website (another great reason to join!) under the video technique training.  As one of our make n takes we did the tall box made from Tempting turquoise and Pink Flamingo DSP, and I made another sample using Close to cocoa and Tall Tales DSP, also I made 2 boxes using Close to Cocoa and Tall Tales DSP.  To make the Tall box, you start with a piece of 12 X 12 Card stock, score it at 2, 5 3/4, 7 3/4, and 11 1/2  then score it at 2 inches at the bottom.  I gave you a visual.  cut the bottom score marks up to the 2 inch line, and then assemble and decorate.  The square boxes are also started with a 12 X 12 sheet of card stock, and score it at 2 3/4 on all four sides.  Cut two of the sides across from each other up to the score marks and then glue down the flaps.  Do the same thing for the bottom, but before you score it, take a "smidge" off two of the sides.  Written instructions are hard to follow, but they are easy!  Watch the videos online, and if you came last night, you got hands-on training.  We got to see more punch cards by Tamie, and a really cool project by Cassie Thelen...she made magnet boards made from cookie sheets. And, I'll show you one swap card today...our winner. Sandi Dailey. She got a 20.00 gift certificate for winning.  Once I got home, Carter decided not to sleep last night...he and I both had a stomach ache, and we were up all night. He's getting his naps today...I wish I could. : )  I'll be up pretty late tonight getting ready for the New Catalog Open house tomorrow...I've got to clean my house.  Those of you who know me, know that is not my specialty! I'll show you the swap cards from the meeting last night, and I also will show you the samples from my New Catalog Open house, so make sure you come back!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Thumping

Today I'm going to show you a few samples of the technique that I will be showcasing at the RubberQueen meeting tomorrow.  I know most of you have seen this, but it's ALWAYS the sample on my table that everyone picks up and asks "how do you do that!"  I've had a couple samples laying around lately, and they have gotten the most attention.
1. Choose a bold stamp.  I like Upsy Daisy, and I really like the trees from Lovely as a Tree.
2. Ink it up in a lighter color classic ink.  (So saffron, creamy caramel, or sage shadow)
3. Choose 3-4 marker colors that coordinate.
4. Then thump about 10 times with each marker on the back of the stamp that is already inked.
5. Huff the stamp to remoisten it.
6. They stamp, and voila, it's SO cool!
So, if you haven't demonstrated thumping in awhile, do it at your next class or workshop, you will get a great "WOW". And, have fun trying it with different stamps and markers.
Have a GREAT day! Looking forward to seeing lots of you later in the week! At my new catalog open house, I will have packages of sample cards and scrapbook pages also for sale!

Happy 4th of July!

I didn't stamp at all this weekend...enjoyed the family.  For the first time since March, we've been home on a weekend, and not have a basketball tournament, and I didn't have to work or go anywhere, so we stayed home and enjoyed the pool, and the family. I'm posting some pictures of what we did...Badminton, Pool, bonfire, and the boys had a carrot eating contest. They were inspired by the hotdog eating contest on TV.  Tuesday is the RubberQueen meeting. We'll be doing 2 make n takes, and another technique for our technique booklets. Hope you can come!  We'll also be seeing two awesome demonstrations. Cassie Thelen is going to show us how to make a magnet board out of a cookie sheet!!  Then Tamie will WOW us like always.  By the way, I had the DSP samplers priced wrong, so I updated them! Looking forward to lots of fun stamping this week. My favorite event all year is on Thursday...the New Catalog open house come during the day or at night.

Some more cards!

I can't believe the year is half over!  And, our new Stampin' Up! year is coming.  I LOVE the new catalog, and can't wait to start using it!  tomorrow is the day!  Have you ever been to one of my New Catalog open houses?  They are are the best! Some Demonstrators won't even do them because basically I'm giving you my old stamp sets and accessories, but I want you to have them!!  I'll have my own little store set up where you come shop from 8 years worth of retired stamps, and they are priced at face value, even though they are worth so much because you can no longer buy them, BUT the best part is whatever you spend that day, you get for FREE out of the new catalog.  Get the new colors, new stamp sets, new ribbons, or really go crazy and get all the new Designer Series Paper! Plus you'll get to make 6 projects using new stamp sets, dies, accessories and the new colors.  I hope you can come!  Bring a friend, and you 'll get to make an extra set of the projects! It's at my house, so I have two time slots.  10-1:00 or 6-8:00.  RSVP, because space will be limited.  My pictures today are the three other Card class cards, and a few of my projects from the Mount Pleasant meeting last Monday.  We made two envelope mini scrapbooks.  One with the Rich Razzleberry and Clear envelopes.  The stamp set was Always.  This is such a cool way to give pictures to someone, or to keep some of your own.  Next was a mini scrapbook made out of two mini envelopes and a piece of 12 X 3 paper scored every 3 inches.  Then there are two pullouts inside the envelopes for a few more pictures.  The stamp set was Razzle Dazzle, and the DSP was the Raspberry Lemonade.  And, lastly I made a picture frame with the long boards ran through the big shot with the Pink Flamingo DSP, and the top note.  What a cute way to add a picture or two on top of a desk, and so cheap!  They cost about 1.00 to make! Looking forward to catching up with you tomorrow, make sure you stop back by!

Home from Kentucky!

Boy, I've never been so glad to get into bed last night!  After 5 nights in a small cabin with no bathroom, and 4 kids, I REALLY need some rest after that vacation.  It was fun, and I loved being with my family, but camping with a 6 month old is exhausting.  Not to mention that I got some sort of poison ivy, and my daughter got car sick, and I got a stomach ache on the drive home.  It felt SO good to take a bath, and be home! I'm posting a few of my pictures from the trip.  Andrew with Carter on the hammock, Erica after a day in the sun and Stampin' Up!'s tattoos on her cheek, and Ryan with his cousin.  We camped with 30 members from my family.  Now, on to some stamping news!!  The new catalog debuts in ONLY 1 more day!  Check back here on July 1st for a new catalog special!  I've scheduled my new catalog open house on July 9th here at my house, along with a Christmas in July Card stack on July 22nd, and a double stamp camp on Sunday, July 12th with the new Ronald McDonald house stamp set, and one of the new mini card kits on page 208.  Tomorrow is the June card class...I still have space, just email me by noon tomorrow if you want to come, and feel free to bring a guest.  I'm posting a few of the cards that we'll be making.  Most of it will be new stamp sets and colors, and then I threw in the "B" fabulous card because I really love that set, and it's retiring. I copied that one from Tamie Ackerson.  Only ONE day left to get all the retired sets that you want!  Big Flowers, Just B, Hugs and Wishes, Great Grad, and so many more!!  I'm doing a special for one more day..buy one retired set, get one at 1/2 price!  Email me with as many as you want at Ronda@stampwithronda.com.  When I got home, I got an email from my good friend Sandy Haynes, and her daughter was in an ATV accident and sustained head injuries and is in ICU in Grand Rapids.  Many of you know her, so please keep Melissa in your prayers.  Her son Garret was just in a snow mobile accident just a year ago, and had similar injuries that were even worse.  I will keep you updated as I hear from Sandy.  Life is precious!  We worry so much about our children, and just today in my Bible study, I read about calling upon the Lord to heal our Children now even before they are hurt or injured.  It is one of our promises that the Lord can and will heal when we call upon Him! So, I remind all of you today to pray that God puts a hedge of protection around each one of your children.  Have a wonderful day, and I look forward to stamping with many of you tomorrow!

Happy Father's Day

Not that many Father's will read this blog, but my Dad does to check up on me and see what I'm up to.  I'm pretty sure not many of us will get the chance to stamp today, as we will be dedicating today to our Father's in our life.  My husband will be spending the day watching our oldest play basketball, which I think is one of his favorite things to do, and then I'll make him Lasagna for dinner.   My dad is in Kentucky camping where I'll be later in the week.  Well, I had a really rough weekend, and my stress level is to the roof, because with all this rain, my basement got a big leak, and water poured in my stamp room all Friday night!  Which means it's completely torn up!  And, I have our Mount Pleasant meeting to get ready for tomorrow, and not one clean spot in my office to work.  I know I'll get it done, I always do, but I may be up till wee hours of the morning tonight.  The blessing is that nothing major got ruined.  Just all my bags that I've collected over the years from all my conventions, Founder's and Leadership conventions.  It brought back memories looking at each one before I had to throw them away. Funny thing was, I even found some great stuff in a few of them that I forgot was in there and didn't put away.  Let's see, I'm posting a few projects from my Big Shot class this week, a little gift card bag made from two top notes, and inside fit a medium cello bag perfectly, then a circle album made with the thick window sheets and pieces of the To the nines DSP, so we could make mini books for our Dad's.  I LOVE making these mini books with the thick window sheets because it gives them such added stability.  I'm also posting another card made at our Sponge class. This class was very cool, a little tricky, and our fingers got very inky!  Then, a swap card made by Gayle McCracken using Orchid Opulence, and the Manhattan Flower folder with the card stock vellum...I LOVE that!  I will be doing almost the exact one at my card class on the 30th.  Lastly, it's my Carter...he is now officially on the move!  He scooches and gets himself into all kinds of places.  Makes getting work done pretty difficult.  He's only 5 1/2 months!!!!  He also won't nurse anymore...he's just too nosey, and can't stand to look away from anything for even a moment!  I miss those quiet times with him, and I hate making a bottle at 4:00 in the morning, but it's easier to leave him now with a sitter when I have to go to work.  I hope you all have a wonderful day!  I'll post some of my Mount Pleasant meeting samples tomorrow, or Tuesday. The theme is all new colors, plus Fun with envelopes.  We're making a few neat projects using some of the different envelopes we have.  Blessings to you all!!!
Love,
Ronda

Fantastic Friday

I just walked inside from sitting outback on a swing with Carter.  Boy, God is good!!  My boys were playing basketball outside, and they weren't fighting, Erica was watching a movie with a friend inside, Eric was folding laundry, and I was rocking with Carter smelling the lilacs.  There are a few moments in each week that I truly feel at peace, and that was one of them!  Today was the end to one crazy week.  I think I drove back and forth to our high school at least 25 times this week!  But, Andrew and Ryan did spectacular in their basketball camp.  Ryan won the shooting champ, and Andrew won the one-on-one champ.  Both hard awards to earn! I obviously didn't get to stamp much, but I did a lot earlier in the week to show you.  The two bigshot projects are what you get for free when you buy a spot on my big shot board.  I have two spots left on my first one, and then we'll draw for our winner.  Our next samples are a swap card by Laurie Gibson using the new Rich Razzleberry and Bermuda Bay and by Tamie Ackerson doing the monochromatic card with Rich Razzleberry ink, cs, and polka dot ribbon.  Then lastly I want to share with you the new Big shot die for Gift cards.  I didn't order this one at first, but once I saw it in the new book, I decided I just had to have it.  I'm SO glad I did.  It's really cool, and easy to use! I made the outside really simple, because the inside is just so unexpected and awesome!  We'll be using this at the Big shot class on the 17th.  I am extending the deadline to Monday for both of these classes.  But, I have to know by Noon at the lastest.  This weekend we have a few Open houses to go to, like I'm sure everyone else does, and then Ryan has a basketball tournament.  Have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings,
Ronda

Some great samples!

Our RubberQueen meeting was Tuesday...boy was it fun!  We saw and played with lots of the new stamp sets, colors and big shot dies from the preorder.  I have a ton of samples to share with you, so I'll post a few today and a few more tomorrow.  Melissa Roberts made the one with the stamp set "On a Pedestal", and used the color combination of Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo.  I used the new Mover and shapers with the Melon Mambo paper also.  I LOVE the  Magnetic Movers and Shapers because it layers our punches perfectly. But, REMEMBER, you have to own the Mover and Shapers die to make these work.  It's worth the money!  I will use these all the time.  Sandy Haynes won our card contest using the Bella Flower that is retiring.  It's the one that is black and white.  I talked a lot about how to make money doing Stampin' Up!, and about how to make your summer FUN!  I'm so excited for my Sizzlin' Summer challenge, and hope you all play with me to earn tickets!  Each card class you come to you get an entry, and if you bring a guest, you get another entry, and then for each specialty class you come to, you'll get 2 entries. Then I'll also reward you with more entries for orders placed.  If you book a workshop of your own, you'll get 10 entries!  It will run for June-August, and in August I will draw for 4 winners.  One 100.00 winner, and 3 25.00 winners!  This week is my craziest week of all.  Both my boys have basketball camp ALL day from 10:00-5:00, and then games at night, and Baseball games too!  So, I'm in and out alot, but I'd love to hear from you.  Enjoy the samples!
Blessings,
Ronda

My favorite Graduation card

I really wanted to show you all my favorite Graduation card I got.  Of course, I helped her make them, so I'm a little biased, but I thought it was beautiful. She is a "girly-girl" and didn't want to use the typical school colors, so we went with Chocolate chip and pretty in pink, then added some glitter.  By the way, this is using the stamp set Great Grad, which is being retired... AND there is NO new graduation set taking it's place, so get this one while you can!  I'm leaving tomorrow to spend a few days with my Mom, and Eric's Mom.  Eric and Ryan are off to a tournament by themselves.  I usually don't like for us to split up the family, but I really want to spend as much time as I can with my Mom before she starts dialysis, and Eric's Mom while she's going through Chemo.  We're leaving like at 5:30 in the morning, to see if that helps with Carter's crying.  I'm dreading going by myself and having him going into a screaming fit.  Yes, I know it's past midnight right now..I need to go to bed!  but, before headed off, I wanted to share another new card with you! This one is using Soft Suee and Not Quite Navy, and the new Autumn days set.  It's my masculine card for the New sneak peak from Wednesday. Don't you love how you can flip the polka dot ribbon over, and it's plain. Perfect for those cards you don't want too busy, or for a masculine one.   By the way, I only have 3 spots left on my big shot board if you want one of them!  I'll probably start a new one, once this one is full.  I meant to get my newsletter done to today, and off in the mail.  It didn't get done. I was walking upstairs to rock Carter, and my bed called me. So, he and I curled up and took an hour nap.  I have to say, it was wonderful.  What precious moments.  My newsletter will get out next week.  So, I should let you know that I scheduled a sponge card class on June 17th, and a really cool Big shot class on June 17th. You can come take both of them, or just one of them.  Also, I scheduled our next Mount Pleasant meeting for June 22nd.  It's during the week this time, because weekends are so crazy during June.  I hope you can come!  They are all going to be SO cool!  Have a wonderful weekend!  I'll be back on Sunday.
Blessings!!
Love,
Ronda
